Music to him is life and life is music it reflects each facet and therefore there is nothing else to make it worth while but to share his music with every heart and ear and soul that it can touch.

Pearl is the son of FUNK, ROCK, JAZZ, BLUES, CLASSICAL, R&B the music lives within each breathe. Being self taught except for the two songs his uncle taught him (SLIDE AND BRICK HOUSE) .After leaving for college he found other bass guitar heroes like STANLEY CLARKE, GEDDY LEE ,JOHN PAUL JONES, CHRIS SQUIRE ARRON MILLS AND JACO, WES Montgomery AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST LARRY GRAHAM. And From each player he learned and encompassed a technique and from that his soul was born and a new phoenix did arise. THE MUSIC IS beyond the groove it's what we call ?SOULISTIC'. After 3 years At Florida State University. He left and entered the UNITED STATES ARMY. Where he served in Desert =Storm after the time in the sandbox he recorded his first cd entitled PHASES OF LOVE the production duties were shared by Gundy Keller. GUNDY KELLER is a midi-guitar specialist for the ROLAND MUSIC COMPANY. Gundy and Pearl are life brothers of music so the cd was a gift of love and it was truly the beginning of a musical dance. Another producer also featured on the cd was DARRELL TRENT KELLY. Darrell and Pearl meet through a great friend performer Sandy B, the two hit it off and the next cd was totally produced by DARRELL , THE MYSTERY OF INTIMACY which featured the single LOVE DON'T HAVE TO HURT THAT WAY was a hit and it lead to the production of a small project while PEARL was in Korea, THE PATTERNS OF DESIRE CD did bring the world into focus with his vibe. Once Pearl returned from the tour the reality of the world did set in and family and career did take first place and he took a five year break from the touring and settled into family life. But the call of music did not let that phase last for long and his first project was entitle 4 DIMENSIONAL NEO-SOUL, Which to date has the coolest cover art work created by the master mind of design MR MARK STIFFELER. As the music progress SON OF PEARL horned his bass playing skilled and long to find a way to express his music in a way that the listener would find his own place within the groove, so on the next project entitled MAGNIFIECENT OBSESSION he did just that and let the fan find his own way in the grooves and entitle each song from there ideas. But you can never rest on your groove you have to move in to the a.m. each morning and therefore the next cd did find the bassist AT the soul of the mellowness and it became PROMELLOWISTFUNKSTAKATION, which is to date the biggest moving cd. But once again the call of war was answered but the music did not stop while deployed his team of at SUAVITY RECORDS put together some B-SIDES and entitled the cd NEO-SOULISTIC INTERVISIONS. After the war the blessing of life was to be alive and whole and the music of his mind did find it ways from the soul to the ears of the fans once again and therefore COSMIC SOUL SERENADE did come into being. ON THE NEW cd SON OF PEARL begin to with the mellow sounds that he had grown up on and always being a lover of George Benson and Wes Monty he found that the 8 string bass gave him the ability to show appreciation of the jazz musician that he used to watch his mom cry to , love to and worry how she would play the bills. But some how the music gave her solace and that is what he wanted COSMIC SOUL SERENADE to do. Music is the way and life is music each cd by Son of Pearl brings you deeper into the world of a soldier and a passionate musician.
